Most roof repairs in Sunbury-on-Thames start with a small problem — a tile that slipped in the wind, a damp patch on a bedroom ceiling, a bit of mortar that has dropped off the ridge. Left alone they get expensive. We come out, get up on the roof, find the actual cause rather than the obvious symptom, and give you a straight answer: a repair, or if the roof is genuinely at the end of its life, an honest quote for replacing it. Most repairs are done in a single visit.

New roofs for extensions, new builds and garages — tiled, slated or flat — built to current standards from the timbers up.
A new roof is the one part of a build you cannot afford to get wrong. As a roofing contractor in Sunbury-on-Thames we handle new roofing from the structure upward — timbers, breathable membrane, batten spacing, ventilation, the tiles or slates themselves and the lead detailing around chimneys and abutments. Everything is set out to the manufacturer's specification and current Building Regulations, so it passes inspection and stays weathertight for decades.
Full strip and re-roof when repairs no longer make sense — new membrane, battens and tiles, old materials cleared away.
If a roof has been patched a few times and still lets water in, the underfelt has usually gone. Re-roofing means stripping the covering back to the rafters, checking and repairing the timbers, laying a modern breathable membrane and new battens, then re-covering with tiles or slates that suit the house. It is a bigger job than a repair, but it resets the clock on the whole roof and we will tell you plainly when it is the better-value option.

Felt, EPDM rubber and GRP fibreglass flat roofs for extensions, garages, dormers and porches — new and replacement.
Flat roofs fail for predictable reasons: no fall, so water sits; cheap felt that cracks in the sun; joins that were never sealed properly. We install flat roofing in EPDM rubber, GRP fibreglass or high-performance felt depending on the roof and your budget, with the deck and falls sorted first so the finish has something sound to sit on. Existing flat roofs with ponding or blistering can often be repaired before they need replacing.
Concrete and clay tiles, natural and man-made slate — laid straight, fixed to spec and finished with proper ridge and verge detailing.
Tiling and slating is the core of what we do. Whether it is a full roof or a section that needs re-laying, tiles are set out properly, nailed or clipped where the specification calls for it, and finished with ridge and verge details that stay put in a Thames Valley gale. For older houses around Sunbury, Shepperton and Hampton we source matching reclaimed or replica tiles so a repair does not stand out.

Repointing, rebuilding, new lead flashing, cowls and chimney removal — the most common source of roof leaks, sorted.
A surprising number of "roof leaks" are actually the chimney: eroded mortar joints, cracked flaunching around the pots, or flashing that has lifted away from the brickwork. We repoint and rebuild stacks, replace lead flashing and back gutters, cap unused chimneys so they stop taking on water, and take stacks down and tile over where they are no longer wanted.
New uPVC fascias, soffits and guttering, plus gutter repairs and clearing — keeping water off the walls and out of the roof.
Fascias and soffits do two jobs: they close off the roof edge against weather and birds, and they carry the gutters. When the timber rots, gutters sag and overflow, and the damp ends up in your walls. We replace tired boards with low-maintenance uPVC, fit new guttering with the right falls to the downpipes, and clear and realign existing runs that are spilling over.

Moss, algae and debris removed from tiled roofs by hand and soft wash — no pressure-washing that strips the tile surface.
Thick moss holds water against the tiles, freezes and cracks them in winter, and blocks the gutters when it falls. Cleaner tiles last longer. We remove moss by hand and with a low-pressure soft wash rather than a jet wash, which strips the protective surface off concrete tiles and forces water under them. Because a roofer is doing it, any slipped or cracked tiles are spotted and can be fixed on the same visit.
